Avenger Theater receives 11 Awards
The 2023-24 Ocean State Star Awards winners have been announced! Congratulations to our entire cast and crew of “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical” for putting on a show back in December that still has the audience and adjudicators raving about the Avenger Theater program!
A big round of applause for the students who are being recognized in the following categories:
- Outstanding Lead Performer: Avery Kuznar as Mal
- Outstanding Lead Performer: Maddie Hennessy as Maleficent
- Outstanding Lead Performer: Angelo Cipolla as Ben
- Outstanding Lead Performer: Eden Mulson as Mal
- Outstanding Supporting Performer: Molly Benjamin as Jay
- Honorable Mention in Performance: Giancarlos Dominguez as Coach
- Rising Star: Caroline Cronin as Evie
- Rising Star: Charlie Gilliland as Carlos
In addition to the individual honors, our show also received awards for:
- Outstanding Direction
- Outstanding Music Direction
- Outstanding Set Design
- Outstanding Lighting Design
The Ocean State Star Awards program is part of an education initiative by the Providence Performing Arts Center which recognizes, honors, and encourages excellence in all aspects of musical theater performance and production among area high school students. The students listed above have the opportunity to perform on the PPAC stage during the Ocean State Star Awards showcase and ceremony on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 7pm.
