TOTALLY AWESOME! We are honored to have just received 28 nominations from the 2024-25 Ocean State Star Awards program for our December production of “Back to the 80s”. This remarkable achievement highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of the students and staff involved in the program. From righteous acting and singing to the amazing rock band orchestra and stellar stage design and videos, these nominations cover it all – including the hard-working student crew both backstage and in the tech booth.
The Ocean State Star Awards program, sponsored by the Providence Performing Arts Center, is designed to celebrate, support, and advocate for high school musical theatre education throughout Rhode Island. The program celebrates high school musicals, students, and teachers by formally recognizing the extraordinary achievements of our state’s high school productions.
The cast and crew of “Back to the 80s” were adjudicated during their performances in December, with nominations announced shortly thereafter. Winners in all categories will be decided and announced at the end of the school season in May, culminating with the final awards at the state-wide ceremony and showcase on the PPAC stage on June 1st, 2025.
CONGRATULATIONS to the entire cast and crew of Avenger Theater on creating a fun show that rocked an entire weekend of awesome audiences – as well as the adjudicators! Bravo!!!
